Tuna Ziti




Ingredients

3-4 large cloves of garlic, minced

1 can of Tuna

1 16 oz. bag of ziti pasta

1 large can of petite diced tomatoes

1 tsp salt

1 tsp ground black pepper

1 ½ tsp garlic powder

½ tsp rosemary

½ tsp oregano



Instructions

Take a large pot, fill ¾ of the way with water, and set it on high to bring it to a boil. In a medium saucepan, add the minced garlic and drizzle a thin layer of olive oil to coat the bottom. Sautee the garlic for two minutes and add the canned tuna, be sure to drain the excess water. Cook the tuna in the garlic and oil for about five minutes while breaking down the tuna chunks.


Add the canned tomato to the tuna and mix well. Allow that to simmer for about 10 minutes. Add the salt, pepper, garlic powder, rosemary, and oregano to the sauce and mix. Allow the sauce to continue simmering for another 10 minutes.


Once the water has reached a boil, add the ziti pasta and cook per instructions. Once cooked, drain the water and return the ziti to the pot. Drizzle with olive oil to prevent the pasta from sticking together or to the pan. Pour the sauce over the pasta and top with shredded parmesan to serve.
