Paper Hearts

These paper hearts are super easy to make and work well as decorations, especially if you're looking for some easy decorating ideas this Valentines' Day. Use them to create a backdrop as the centerpiece for a Valentines' party or to add some festive touches around the house. The wonderful thing about this project is you can be as creative as you like. From choosing a variety of colors to incorporating different paper shapes and sizes, you are sure to dress up the home for the season of love.

For this project, you will need:

-Cardstock

-Hot glue gun & glue

- A pencil

- Plate

-Scissors

Begin by laying a large plate on the cardstock, keeping it centered. Using a pencil trace the outer edges of the plate that cover the cardstock. Cut out the edges of the paper, tracing the line you drew.

Then fold the cardstock into a fan, longways. Fold the fan in half. On one of the inner flaps, add some hot glue from the center towards the top. Press the opposite inner flab and hold until the hot glue has dried. Open the fan up to reveal the heart shape.

I used my paper hearts to create a backdrop on the wall over the buffet table by making larger paper fans and cutting out individual hearts. This is an affordable way to create a really fun and whimsical focal point in your decor. Along with being simple, this is a great craft idea for the kids and a fun way to decorate the house as a family.
